Ever find yourself sufficiently numbed out to where you are just clicking through the those must-do's and not connected within?
Somehow not feeling inspired in the heart? Yeah, me too. It's hard not to feel that way in these times, but imperative that we tap in and reconnect. Stop watching the train wreck for self care. For a few hours. To bring our whole selves to these times, to this space and time. Right here. I've chosen to share a little montage from late May and early June. My friend Lisa Payne Crujido invited me to join her in coastal Scotland, and it was an incredible time. I flew into Glascow, took a bus to ther train line and hopped onto the train to Largs in a neighborhood on Paisley Street. Day 1, 2, 3, Weds-Sat, Largs on the west coast. We had great tapas. hiked a long loop around the highest local topography, found Big Foot after a pint, rented bikes and ferried over to a nearby island for cycling, saw incredible buildings and farms and walked an old labyrinth. And met up with Cyndi and Allen, Cousin of a friend and her husband, a Parliamentarian of the UK, to dine and entertain ourselves with too much fun. Closed down a restaurant and two bars that evening. The energy is strong here. I felt my intuition connecting me with this place and its people. I loved that it wasn't all a touristy sheen, there are real folks here and they are a kind hearted, funny type. We had good weather with pretty regular rain and winds. And once I relaxed into the way it was going to unfold, things got way better. A good reminder for daily life... My intention with this trip was to begin seeing things with new eyes. Bringing a new perspective. Maybe continuing to pull off the veils from my own "reality." Thinking a lot about needs vs. wants, what health really means, and lightening a load. DAY FOUR we took a train to Arrochar in the dumping blowing tempestuous storm and spent a night at the Arrochar Hotel on Loch Long before meeting up with the cycling tour folks, whom we would spend the next six days riding with. It was wonderfully wild and exciting. Even with a massive cold. Stay tuned for the next installment. It is my hope that this can bring a little silver lining to the clouds and shadow being felt by the collective right now.
