It is the dark moon in Capricorn. A blessed time for going within, and dreaming our intentions. As we spend time with the new moon, this is a fantastic time for setting our new intentions, recognizing our hopes and wishes, and laying the mental groundwork for our new phase of wellness. I love the image of burying crystals deep in fertile soil, at this time of month. It is a wonderful time to be writing checks to the universe, to be journaling to our inner child, to be asking our angels and guides to guide and support on our journey. Going within, going deep, casting seeds there that will be drawn out by the energy of moon and warmth of the sun in the coming active phase of growth. How do we cast intentions? One of the things that is new for me is focused detoxing; mind, body, and spirit. I love daily meditation, even if its just my morning pages practice and evening gratitude journaling. I drink lemon or ginger in my water in the morning, long before coffee starts, which is a gentle detox for my system. To help reset from the night before, I take oils in warm water (lemon or Slim n Sassy) and in a gelcap, I take Yarrow-POM with a few others that gently cleanse the bloodstream and support our organs. Internal use of oils has many benefits. Ginger oil is part of our Slim N Sassy oil, the metabolic blend. Ginger also helps decrease mucus production and reduces inflammation. Yarrow-POM has a host of benefits, not the least of which being internal support of reducing artery-blocking plaque and supporting healthy blood pressure. And I love celery seed oil, for its tonic soothing to all our inner workings it contacts. Did you know, lymph is the only system in our body that doesn’t move itself? True story. One of my favorite ways of doing a lymphatic flush is simply practicing jumping jacks! This is a great way to break the bonds that hold cellulite and lymph stagnant. Dry brushing with oils is a great support for lymphatic movement. Research also suggests that dry brushing helps reduce cellulite by speeding up metabolism. Regular dry skin brushing exfoliates dry, rough skin, enabling moisturizing products to more readily absorb into the skin, assists with stimulation of sweat and oil glands, contributing to the restoration of moist, supple skin, strengthens pores by assisting with increased skin tone, and gently stretches connective tissue to help regenerate production of collagen and elastin fibers. One of my favorite ways to use dry brushing - the act of brushing over dry skin – is just as I enter a shower, and then afterwards, apply one of my fave oils, either Slim & Sassy or Yarrow-POM - topically with a carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil). This combination is a natural health practice that stimulates the connective tissue attached to the capillaries sitting under the skin, which assists the lymphatic flow around the body, ridding the body of toxins and waste and improving circulation. Dry brushing has so many benefits. When used topically, Slim & Sassy is thermogenic. It makes heat and feels totally like it melts bumps. I can feel it!! I love to do this, but not at night... it can increase your metabolism and wake you up! Follow the pattern on the image, and be sure to brush your back body as much as you can also! Happy beautiful new moon energy and in all ways, bringing your vision of health back to front and center. You are worth it. Yours In Health, in all ways, Lynell Marie
