One of my most huge realizations during our 2020 Pursue global connection with the incredible community that is doTerra, was the notion that we can head off emotional triggers with aroma. . Look guys, I really do believe that ALL of us have suffered some sort of trauma, at some point or another. I am not saying I have it all put together here, but I CAN say that I totally get the notion that our mental wellbeing can affect our physical body. . That we can even pass emotional and mental brokenness on to our offspring through epigenetic. That means even if we are the descendants of holocaust survivors, we may carry certain DNA changes that they experienced firsthand through trauma... causing us to relive certain realities, emotions, triggers, when the conditions are right. . Balanced wellness? Maybe not. These can create deeply rooted emotional distress, caused by environmental onset. This can send us into reliving a given scenario, even if it wasn't ours to begin with, with physical, mental and emotional responses. . What I have learned today at our global connection, thanks to Danielle Daniel, PhD and LCSW, is that aromas can create an anchor of safety. That this can interrupt a trauma-induced feeling. Her whole dissertation addressed this, and for this I am so super grateful!
Now, if you know me, you might know that I have suffered traumas in this lifetime, and that my family back through history has as well. I seem to have grown and inherited some crappy genes, and have worked for decades to change the makeup of my state of Being. Bike racing came easy, because it was fairly guttural and sated the rather lizard-brain part of me that needed to compete. Family life, well, that may be more of a challenge because it's hard to be in fight-or-flight and be a caring, empath all at the same time. I may be reactive. I may respond in a way that seems kinda weird, to a given stimulus. I have to say, I can't explain it all away. BUT I have found some soothing agents. and I really DO love to share, because I am a firm believer that YOU do not need to suffer what I have already screwed up. Let's get together and share some stories. You can learn from MY own upsets, and that is worth years of poor quality of life, I promise. . Sending out all love, truly.
